"The moon is a friend for the lonesome to talk to" Carl Sandburg. The moon is one of the main constants in the universe as it continuously shifts through the night sky. It acts to illuminate your room as a steady reminder of its existence. Its presence on the dark curtain that blankets above is both unbothered and innocent. Undisturbed in its existence, the moon is always overlooking. Even when the sun takes its place or when clouds cover it, the moon remains a reality even when it's not looked at it.
The moon has remained a mystery even with its billion of onlookers throughout time and the revolving door of civilizations. Often studied for its mysterious power. Maybe we will learn that its purpose is to remain a mystery that doesn't want to be solved. The ancients looked at the moon to be gifted with knowledge and wisdom. A divine symbol with knowledge locked away in its core, so it is never found but also never lost. The moon is there to remind us to keep searching and explore in its presence.
