#My500Words: Day 18 of 31 "The Mobile Revolution

The future of mobile is the future of everything.

"Your mobile device has quickly become the easiest portal into your digital self". The future of mobile is the future of everything. I'm typing this right now on my mobile phone, which is kind of crazy to think about. We no longer need to be connected to the Internet in order to be on the Internet.

Imagine someone from the 90's who suddenly woke up from a coma today and saw the change in technology and how it impacts our everyday life. They would have no comprehension that our phones are no longer, well you know, phones. Today, we rarely make an actual phone call on our phone, we just text and use it to scroll thru memes (or maybe that's just me).

The influx of technological advances the past 10 years will influence the world of our future. Smartphones, wearable devices, advanced and technical apparel, and smart appliances all make our lives a bit simpler but also more complex.

Take a look at your phone right now. What in the past needed a computer or laptop to be done can now be completed in the palm of your hand. The smartphone is probably the major key to society today. Odds are, you're probably reading this on your smartphone as the split between desktop and mobile to access the Internet is now 50/50.

We are living connected lives. Our mobile devices are now an extended part of our body and they are reshaping the world around us and the way that we live. Digital technology is leading the way on the evolution of our society.

We are now globally connected like no other time before; the Internet represents global consciousness.  Messages and ideas are able to spread seamlessly with the push of a button using your thumbs. We are now connected now more than ever before.

From the moment we wake up in the morning one of our things that we do is to reach for our phones. Not to see if we have any missed calls that came overnight, but we reach for them in order to be reconnected to what's going on in the world. Logging into Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or checking your email, we all have the urge to reconnect. The convergence of mobile, social, cloud, big data, and other technological advances are reshaping the world. The combination is an incredible opportunity to transform the way we live and work. Information is now accessible seamlessly on any device.

We use our phones to do things, capture things, and share things…instantaneously. The acceleration of time can be attributed to the acceleration of technology. What used to take days or years to do in the past can now be done in seconds, minutes, or hours.

In today's modern world, there is a mobile revolution where mobile is ubiquitous and you are either connected or asleep. Mobile has revolutionized the digital gateway to the real world. The future of mobile is the future of everything.
